Anti-pattern
The anti-pattern: the outcome was recorded, the reasoning was not — so every decision has to be re-argued from scratch.
You know what was decided. You do not know why, or what else was considered. The record says "we use Kafka", "customer is defined as X", "the boundary sits here" — and nothing about the alternatives that lost, the constraints that applied, or who would need to be convinced to change it. Six months later the decision cannot be revisited, only reopened. And reopening means redoing the whole analysis, because the analysis was never the artifact — only its conclusion was.
