Lineage & governance
Governance built into the platform and its generation flow, not run as a separate downstream process.
Downstream governance reviews what the platform already did; embedded governance shapes what the platform can do. The checks, standards, and controls execute inside the normal flow of work — at modeling time, at generation time, in CI, at deployment — so a non-compliant artifact is never produced in the first place, rather than produced, discovered, and remediated months later. Generation is what makes deep embedding possible. In a hand-coded platform, embedding governance means asking every engineer to remember every rule; in a model-driven one, the generator is a single choke point that all artifacts pass through. Put the controls there and compliance stops being a behavior and becomes a property of the machinery — the shift-left move applied to governance, all the way to the point of creation. Within the governance cluster, embedded governance names the placement of enforcement: inside the flow. Governance DNA supplies what is enforced (traits encoded in the model), embedded metadata governance supplies the carrier (rules riding in the metadata), and governance-as-code supplies the engineering form. This concept is where they all become operational.
