Enterprise Context Architecture

Treat the AI-context layer as a first-class, governed asset — not an afterthought.

Enterprise Context Architecture (ECA) is the deliberate design and governance of the context an organization feeds to its AI systems — the instructions, memory, retrieval sources, metadata and signals that decide what a model thinks about. It extends the data-governance mindset one layer up: where an Enterprise Ontology governs what data means, ECA governs the context that surrounds that meaning at the moment of use. Context becomes an asset with an owner, a lifecycle, quality checks and access rules — versioned and curated like any other data product, rather than pasted ad-hoc into prompts. The premise, borrowed from "Context Is King": semantics describe, but context decides — so if AI decisions are to be trustworthy and repeatable, the context layer must itself be architected and governed. ECA is the enterprise-scale counterpart of an individual's context-engineered second brain.
